Class Dojo

Class Dojo is used on a regular basis so you can keep up to date with messages and pictures of your child's activities.

If you need help setting this up, then please speak with Mr Dowsett.

Daily routines:

Dosbarth Saturn will enter and exit the school via the Soar Terrace entrance.

School gates open at 8:40am and the children need to be in class at 8:50am. The school day finishes at 3:10pm and your children will be supervised and dismissed by the class teacher.

If you wish for your child to walk home or go to a meeting point, a consent form will need to be completed first. Please contact the school office for the form.  

Please send your child to school with a water bottle each day and a healthy snack to eat during their morning playtime. Alternatively, fruit can be purchased in school for 25p per piece of fruit.

In Year 5/6 we encourage our pupils to be resourceful and effective learners who are organised and ready to learn. Pupils may bring in a small pencil case containing a black ink pen, pencil, a ruler and coloured pencils. 

Weekly Routines to Remember:

Tuesday: Outdoor Learning in the Secret Garden.

Children need to have a waterproof coat.

Wellies or old shoes.

Friday: P.E and Spelling Test.

Children need to have trainers and P.E kit.

Practise their spellings at home.

HOMEWORK MENU:

A homework menu will be created following the class EPIC (Everybody Planning in Class) process.

Pupils can choose 1 or 2 tasks from the menu based on the class topic.

READING:

Reading is an important skill that we need for the rest of our lives.

To have the best chance of success we recommend 10-15 minutes of daily reading.

Please aim to listen to your child read each week and celebrate their achievements.

All children have access to our online reading scheme BUG CLUB.

Please encourage your child to read the Bug Club books and to click on the bug tasks throughout the week.
